Kathmandu : The Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) has decided to contribute NPR 5 million to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to support relief and rehabilitation efforts for communities affected by the devastating flood in the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa. NAIMA has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by the disaster.
The Association extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, pays tribute to those who lost their lives, and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured. NAIMA has also acknowledged the support extended by its member companies during this difficult time. Since the onset of the disaster, member companies have contributed to relief and rescue efforts through financial assistance, transportation support, logistics, and other forms of assistance.
Noting that NAIMA has supported the Government and affected communities during disasters and emergencies since its establishment, NAIMA President Ritu Singh Vaidya said: “Supporting the Government and affected citizens during times of disaster is a shared responsibility of the private sector. I sincerely thank all our member companies for their empathy, support, and readiness to contribute during this difficult time.
Effective relief and rehabilitation can only be achieved through strong cooperation among the Government, private sector, and communities.” NAIMA has also expressed its appreciation to the government and security agencies, health professionals, rescue personnel, volunteers, local communities, and organizations engaged in search, rescue, and relief efforts.
The Association has encouraged stakeholders across the automobile and mobility sector to extend support to affected communities according to their capacity and available resources.
