BATTAR, NUWAKOT — Demonstrating compassion and social responsibility, Nepal Environmental Treks & Expedition organized a targeted relief initiative at Orchid Academy Nuwakot in Battar on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. The program focused on providing essential educational supplies to students whose lives and schooling were severely disrupted by the recent devastating Bhotekoshi flood.
Orchid Academy has been actively conducting regular classes for children whose homes were completely swept away or whose parents remain missing following the natural disaster. To ensure these students can pursue their studies without interruption, the organization distributed stationery packages and vital learning materials to support their ongoing education during this challenging recovery period.
The initiative was funded through the support of Maheshwari, a long-time friend of Nepal from Malaysia, along with her network of friends. Having visited Nepal multiple times for cultural and adventure travel, Maheshwari has consistently advocated for local communities and promoted Nepal Environmental Treks & Expedition among Malaysian travelers.
Expressing appreciation for the international support, Nava Raj Dahal, Managing Director of Nepal Environmental Treks & Expedition, extended heartfelt gratitude to Maheshwari and her friends, noting that their generosity serves as a testament to how global friendship and empathy can transform lives.
The relief distribution was coordinated in close collaboration with local stakeholders. Key contributions were made by local social worker Ram Babu Neupane and Ramhari Rimal, Principal of Orchid Academy Nuwakot, who spearheaded the initiative on-site to identify affected students and oversee the distribution.
Organizers expressed optimism that the essential learning materials will bring renewed hope, confidence, and encouragement to the displaced students as they rebuild their academic journeys.
