Kathmandu : Om Samaj Dental Hospital has further strengthened its service-oriented campaign by conducting health camps at three locations in a single day. Implementing the slogan “Treatment from Road to Home”, the organization has intensified its efforts to provide direct treatment to the deprived and economically weak communities. This campaign has not only provided services in the health sector, but also given a strong message of social responsibility.
The camp held in the Chahavel area of Kathmandu saw significant participation from locals. A mother present at the camp pointed out the need to expand such services to every village and said, “It is necessary to take such camps to the villages.” Camp manager Santoshi KC also clearly said, “Such camps are a real support for economically weak citizens like us. This has provided great relief to those who cannot reach the hospital.”
Meanwhile, Param Ananda Jeevan Yoga Laboratory President Gaura Karki, Vice President Deepak Pandey, Secretary Nawaraj Adhikari, Treasurer Shankar Prasad Kharel and members Tara Sapkota, Parbati Sapkota and Rameshwor Mishra have jointly expressed their satisfaction with the camp and said, “The doctors who came to today’s camp seemed very service-oriented and efficient. We had heard the name ‘Om Samaj Dental Hospital’, but today’s service proved that this institution is truly service-oriented.”
In the meantime, Banasthali Branch Chief Sabina Papan Gurung explained the camp as a long-term social responsibility and said, “We have formally concluded an MOU with service-oriented objectives in collaboration with Param Ananda Jeevan Yoga Laboratory. This is not just a paper agreement, but a shared commitment to take health services to the people.” Her statement indicated that health services will now move forward more effectively through institutional collaboration. Meanwhile, Sanjiv Chhetri, the branch chief of Mahatthiri Bardibas, said in strong words, “Our aim is not to remain confined within the four walls of the hospital.
Our real responsibility is to reach out to the economically weaker citizens and make treatment easy.” The yoga sector has also received positive feedback towards the camp. Anand Basnet said, “We have conducted many such camps, but the camp conducted by Om Samaj Dental Hospital today was particularly organized and effective. Our yoga family is very happy.” Similarly, Ramhari Neupane also emphasized on social work and said, “We have been continuously doing such social work. Serving is our responsibility, not just a program.”
Dr. Sarishma Sharma and Dr. Sankrip Sigdel provided services in the camp conducted in Lamabagar and Nepaltar areas, while Junu Pandit and Rita Nepali actively participated as assistants. It is said that the entire management was handled by Sabina Papan Gurung. Senior Surgeon Dr. Subash Ghimire gave a warning message about health, saying, “Seeking treatment after getting sick is our weakness, but creating an environment that prevents getting sick is the real health policy.”
The camp provided services such as yoga, meditation, health counseling, dental checkups, etc. Especially targeting the unreached and economically weak communities, such programs are not only expanding health services but are also having a profound impact on social awareness. Overall, the collaboration between Om Samaj Dental Hospital and Param Ananda Jeevan Yoga Laboratory has given health services the form of a social movement.
Yoga guru Ramhari Nyaypane says that such camps convey a strong message of equal access to health in the long term along with immediate relief. Our camp has earned merit by treating elderly people aged 5 to 89 today.
